Conversations with an 8-year-old

Me: What’s your favourite subject?
Her: Recess
Me: That’s not a subject!
Her: It is! If not, why is it on the timetable?

(just after Liverpool scored)

Me: Woo!!
Her: What happened?
Me: My team just scored!
Her: Then why do they have to hold each other’s heads?
Me: Cos they’re celebrating!
Her: They should just kick each other.

- – -

(while playing Pictionary)

Me: What are you drawing?
Her: Do you give up?
Me: No!
Her: Okay, I’ll draw it easier for you. If you still can’t guess, I’ll press the give up button for you.

(There was no “Give Up” button. She just drew it.)

Her: I like your floor.
Me: Why?
Her: The floor is like Ikea!

The Dope (Wonderful You), by The Dandy Warhols

RIP, Steve

Visionary. Innovator. Inspiration.

1955 – 2011

I may have only been a Mac user for 5 years, but I recognise that Steve Jobs has played a very integral role in transforming technology to become what it is today: accessible, sleek, geeky-cool.

Thank you, Mr Jobs.

Antiquated Espresso

Cozy… not oversized – a hand crafted gem. City living with all it’s artisans provide the ingredients for lofty food ambitions. Resort, retreat, getaway – all inside your bedroom. Music provides the backbeat to everything you do. Enjoying elegant outdoor fare. Watch the grass grow in the hot summer sun. Stopping at nothing, reclaimed flooring from a 17th century French Chateau. Always intriguing, never clumsy.
