New Year
Posted on January 2nd, 2010 @ 14:45

When God whispers to me
He speaks to my heart
Lovingly He calls out
And offers a fresh new start
Undeniably forgiving
Ever embracing
Surely He must run out of love
Yet His love is never ceasing
The warmth of His presence
An all-enveloping grace
Showers me with goodness
So I can see His face
My Lord, go on and whisper to me
Because it is only Your voice that can set me free

I can’t wait to see what the rest of 2010 has in store for me. Happy New Year, everyone!

Tumblr-ing
Posted on August 1st, 2009 @ 23:57

Have you been introduced to Tumblr yet? It’s a great, great way to share links, photos, videos. In fact it’s so convenient, that I’m going to update that all the time, leaving this only for the lengthy posts.

So in case anyone was keeping count, I’ve got this blog, Twitter and a Tumblr. How in the world do I keep up with all of them?

Well, I don’t.

Why, hello again
Posted on March 11th, 2009 @ 17:57

So some people don’t think that tweetin’ is blogging. Technically, you guys are right, but it still functions the same cos it keeps people updated, no? Not convincing enough? Well, we’ll get there.

But I must admit, it was getting tiring having to be uber careful with whatever I was blogging about cos it was on such public domain. While this isn’t exactly top secret either, at least it’s less publicised, and I can lock entries (I think). Sure beats having to think twice before hitting that ‘publish’ button.

Now that I’m back with a more “personal” blog, one would think that I’d be more willing to blog about my real gripes with work. Haha, nice try. Being a civil servant, I know there are watchdogs everywhere so I’ll just stick to my personal life, thankyouverymuch. Then again, what personal life? I come home dog-tired everyday (and usually after 6pm) that I’ll just end up giving in to the urge of crawling into bed and watching crap loads of TV – which until today is still being targeted as being bad for one’s development. Ladies and gentlemen? I grew up watching an unhealthy amount of television and guess what? I’m still no mass murderer, nor am I delusional, or insanely shallow. So perhaps it’s not as bad as you guys make it out to be? Oh wait, those examples were pegged as the effects of the Internet, wasn’t it? Didn’t people say that about TV back then? See where I’m going with this?

Aside: It sure is nice to ramble. I love you, rambling self! *hugs*

Hmm… no one ever said anything about TV making you narcissistic, right?

Anyhow. The other reason why I’m actually able to re-boot this blog is because I’m on a two-day medical leave. Yay to throat inflammations! And believe it or not, I’m actually home with nothing to do. Yes, that’s right. NOTHING! I’ve conveniently left everything at work, and because I’m not married to my job, I’ve successfully fought the (microscopic) urge to go down to bring work back. So thanks to all the shouting that I’ve done, this wee lass is able to sit down in front of her trusty computer and set things back into motion. Can I get a ‘woohoo’?

However, because I’ve been so faithful to Greymatter all these years, it was a total pain in the ass trying to figure out Wordpress. It’s heaps better, for sure, but now there’s all these CSS & PHP scripts that I’ve blatantly avoided for the past few years haunting me, so until I find more time to work at customising my own theme, this simple off-the-rack one will have to do.

Besides, it’s rather nice and simple, don’t you think?

Finally, on to the new title, which I’m sure you’ve been racking your brains to figure out. (No? Oh well.) Yes, it’s from that rather-dull-but-gorgeous Blur song, which I felt was quite representative of this art of blogging. Did I really just say that? The art of blogging? You have to admit that blogging can be rather cathartic yet it sort of leaves you vulnerable as random eyes peer through these lines of text. Yet, many do it, all because we want to continue capturing the more meaningful moments in our lives. And since this is a completely new platform, and not even an improved version of my old blog, I figured a change of name was in order.

Wow, I sure missed writing.
