A few of my colleagues were talking about buying outfits/bags for an upcoming vacation, much to the bewilderment of a male colleague, who didn’t quite understand why it was necessary to “waste money” when money would already be “wasted” on plenty of shopping during the trip.

Ah, men. They just don’t get it. They don’t understand that it’s important to look good on a trip, as you’ll be taking heaps of photos, and it is precisely because of this reason, that we need to ensure we style ourselves properly so we can look good for the camera. Ergo, buying stuff before the trip is super essential.

Fortunately for me, my trip isn’t until the end of the year, so I have plenty of time left to get myself ready. Hehe. But that doesn’t mean I’m not already on the lookout for a couple of nice coats and a bag, despite the fact that I already have some… For that, I blame ASOS. They should never have offered free international shipping! ;)

It took a while for me to get it going, but I’m now ready to share my little venture with you. :)

I’ve been really fond of journals and notebooks ever since I was an adolescent. So when one of my dear friends launched her own online business late last year, I was inspired to say the least.

I immediately started searching for suppliers and boy, was that tough. Many did not respond, and the few who did, wanted credentials which (of course) I didn’t have, since I’m only starting out. Thankfully, I found a couple of businesses who were more than willing to wholesale their products to me and were very supportive too. :)

Then there was that long wait for the products to arrive. But I was in no hurry to launch the store, especially not with my crazy day job taking up most of my time. Besides, the next couple of months was hectic beyond belief because there was just so much going on at work. There was hardly time to think up plans for the shop. It took a pretty severe bout of viral infection for me to finally get things going, since I was doing nothing but sleeping in all day.

I’d originally wanted to launch a full website with the shop, but seeing how I didn’t have a huge range of products yet, I decided to keep it small first and see what the response is like. Thankfully, I found this pretty good shopping cart app on Facebook that seemed appropriate for my needs. Anyway if you ask me, I think Facebook shopping is gonna take over blogshopping. Just you wait and see. :p

I’m not expecting things to take off quickly but let’s hope it won’t be a massive failure. Hee.

As though the Alexa wasn’t already enough, I now see the aptly-named* Boxer:

Yes, I’m kinda beginning to really adore these bags too. Like, a lot, a lot.

It’s got this understated elegance, comes in amazing, versatile colours and it certainly looks like it’ll be a “great investment” (as a dear friend likes to put it).

Thank goodness they’re not available locally. For now, at least.

And here I was, convincing myself there’s no need to be extravagant…

*aptly-named because it is totally fighting its way into my heart right now. Heh.
