I first saw it when my girls and I went to watch X-Men: First Class (which is SUPER AWESOME by the way!), and immediately fell in love with the song. After a little hunting, imagine my surprise when I realised it was actually a cover of this classic:
So big, big kudos to Joshua Radin for his amazing interpretation of You’re the First, the Last, My Everything. The song was exclusively recorded for Tiffany and can be downloaded here for a limited time only.
As far as Hump Day goes, today was by far one of the best Hump Days ever. The Sara Bareilles concert was the order of the day, but since we were going to be in the area, why not have a good dinner at a celeb restaurant to start things off? And so, we did.
Gambling-aside, I’m sure glad we have Marina Bay Sands. With its host of celebrity restaurants, it was enough to give any foodie an unending appetite for decadence. We settled on db Bistro Moderne, excited at the prospect that this was the prelude to the real deal (Daniel) when we hit NYC later this year.
The buddy who is an unabashed foodie:
Choux pastry with gruyere cheese:
Lydia’s Duck Confit:
My Original db Burger:
Poached pear for dessert:
(Dia will most likely have reviews of the food, so you may want to check out her blog.)
After that very satiating dinner, we had just enough time to walk over to the Esplanade for the concert. On our way there, we couldn’t help stopping in our tracks many, many times to capture some photos of a very picturesque Singapore skyline.
One of my favourite bloggers recently introduced me to a world of YouTube mashups that have now become my new obsession. Some of them are so good I would give an arm and a leg to see them performed live. It’s a huge shame these mashups aren’t exactly real; they’re simply creations from pure musical geniuses who have created something wonderful from already amazing songs.
Here are some of my favourites:
Stayin’ Alive In The Wall (Stayin’ Alive by The Bee Gees + Another Brick In The Wall, by Pink Floyd)
With Or Without Glycerine (With Or Without You, by U2 + Glycerine, by Bush)
Sweet Home Alabama, by Lynyrd Skynyrd vs Country Grammar, by Nelly
No Karma (No Hook, by Jay-Z + Karma Police, by Radiohead)
5 Step (15 Step, by Radiohead + Take Five, by Dave Brubeck)
Intergalactic Friends (Intergalactic, by Beastie Boys + We Used To Be Friends, by Dandy Warhols)
