Yes. That IS an outdoor circular courtyard.

This very contemporary home in Japan by Edward Suzuki Architecture was purposely designed to resemble a museum because the client has a vast art collection and wanted it to be prominently displayed.

I love the circular courtyard because it gives the house a unified space, allowing every room to have a great view of the central garden. I honestly think it’s quite genius and now I also want to have an extensive art collection so I can have a circular courtyard and my own house-museum.

It sleeps up to 10 people so if you’re ever looking to do some skiing in Switzerland with your buddies, or if you just want to tell the world that you SLEPT IN A MOUNTAIN, well, now you can.

Ever since we stayed at Parkzijde (a gorgeous B&B in Amsterdam that comes highly recommended), I’ve become extremely particular about travel accommodation, especially with so many hotel rooms appearing insipidly ordinary. Sure, one may argue that since we spend most of our waking hours venturing out into an unknown locale, accommodation shouldn’t matter so much. Yet, at the end of a long day, there’s just something exciting about heading back and winding down in a gorgeous apartment. To me, it makes all the difference between a good holiday and a great holiday.

As we’re most likely heading to Barcelona this December, I started researching on accommodation and MY GOSH DID MY HEART STOP BEATING WHEN I SAW THESE APARTMENTS. And yes, caps lock is necessary to illustrate the extent of my love for these apartments by Destination BCN.

This kitchen in Stockholm is my idea of perfection. If it were mine, I’d be so proud of it I’d invite people over all the time so we could have cooking extravaganzas. Then when we’re done, we’d sit at that table and chat over wine and cheese, or play a game of Scrabble. Of course, in my head, we all have perfect hair the whole time and none of us are perspiring. It’s all very glamorous.
