I can’t believe the big New York trip is happening in less than 3 weeks!! *breathe breathe* I don’t wanna think about what’s gonna happen when the trip’s over… So, I won’t.

Midtown Manhattan

Home to some of New York’s biggest icons, Midtown Manhattan is certainly where plenty of tourists flock to. So there’s Times Square (more about it in a future post), Broadway and MoMA, but I’m personally looking forward to browsing the shelves of the New York Public Library, pretending I’m one of the Hackers rollerblading through Grand Central Terminal (though I can’t blade), and picturing myself as a legendary singer accepting some award at the Radio City Music Hall (yes, I dream a lot).

The Flatiron District named after the Flatiron building, is “an exciting destination for design buffs, shoppers on the hunt for quirky items and foodies in search of some of the City’s best cuisine” (source). What I really want to do is head to 230 Fifth’s rooftop bar so I can have a great view of the Empire State. :)

I’m sure the travel buddy can’t wait to wander around Hell’s Kitchen, once a rough neighbourhood, now a haven for international cuisine. Me? I’m just hoping to bump into one of the many celebrities who apparently live in the area, including Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, who do their tapings there.

20 days. TWENTY DAYS. I can almost smell the New York air.
