Rest is becoming a luxury

It was one of those weeks where I didn’t manage to get enough sleep every night, and each day seemed longer than the last. The weekend arrives, and when I think I can finally catch a breather, I realise that it’s gonna be a weekend filled with commitments. But I still haul myself anyway, only to be greeted by people telling me how tired I looked. Things are certainly not peachy. In fact, this week got me so worn out that I actually felt sleepy in Spanish class. (shock! horror!) I’m usually wide awake at Spanish but yesterday, I simply didn’t have the capacity to work my brain the way it usually does. It was upsetting, to say the least.

I’m hoping this coming week will be heaps better. Granted, I already have 2 classes of essays and letters that I must finish marking by the end of the week. And while the task is slightly daunting, at least I have something to work towards cos I have a fun-filled weekend all planned out. It’s gonna be dinner with the girls (finally!) and we’ll be catching the glorious Hugh Jackman in all his awesomeness as Wolverine. Yay! Then there’s a cook-in, which I’m hoping still stands? It’s been ages since the girls and I have had a fun afternoon chopping and sautéing in the kitchen and I can’t wait to try out some new recipes that I’ve saved in my online recipe box. :) On Saturday, there’s CATS! This is one musical I’ve been dying to catch, and I’ve heard good reviews about this cast, so I’m definitely excited about it. And yes, I know it appears to be another packed weekend, which may induce more weariness and complaints. But at least I’ll have some semblance of a life. D’ya know what I mean? ;)
